Hindley, Wigan house siege - I’m not a terrorist, I swear

The scene of the crime in more peaceful times.

Nothing ever happens in my home town. Well, I lie - we have our share of escaped convicts, and one was actually caught in my aunt’s back garden a few years ago. That’s nothing, however, compared to the madness happening just round the back of my old house.
I’m not lying to you - there’s been a siege happening in my town! Don’t worry, though, it’s not me - I haven’t gone insane and started taking hostages. I’m currently laying low with a sore throat and but for that I’d be down there reporting and getting exclusive interviews. Besides, I don’t wanna be shot by the armed helicopter that was hovering over my house yesterday. I’m innocent, I tells ya!
Sigh. Why does it always have to be murders and armed sieges that put Hindley on the map?
Locals are advised to lock the windows and doors, and if any strange people in black and white striped pyjamas approach your house, pop ‘em in the head. Er, I mean, just ignore them and pretend you’re not in. — I.M.A Copper
It’s seriously harming my business! — The milkman
I blame the Conservatives. — Just about anyone you ask
I did used to live in that area of Hindley, and it is pretty rough, as I have learned from personal experience - we had two cars stolen in the year we lived there. Negotiations are taking place as we speak, and fingers crossed that the situation is resolved peacefully, quickly and without too much hassle.

More news as it breaks.

Can’t believe all the onlookers that have been sitting there watching basically **** all ,even folk in small invalid pavement buggies are parking up with all the brain deads I pass this area on my way home and have noticed all the s****, paper bags, tins of pop, chip paper etc. thrown down on the pavement at the corner of Salsbury fields, as if Hindley isn’t a dump enough to start with
This siege should have been over with ages ago just like the other one on Lancaster rd before Christmas another f***** gun hostage thing.
Hindley is only on the map for bad s*** it used to be Hag Fold, Platt Bridge, West Leigh Norley hall etc but Hindley seems to be worse than all the others at the moment.
Oh whilst I am on my high horse I have just come back from holiday and all the shops windows etc. was lovely there no graffiti, no billboard fly posting, no half built half condemned shops, hardly a take away kebab shop at all to be seen, and all the shop windows didn’t have metal sheet covers over the windows and doors when closed.
That’s bad.
Take care - be alert and informed!
Just be careful. It puts ya on the map though!
This is terrible, i live like 2 mins away, I Went pass before and all the police, fire trucks, ect were there,
Its madness!
hahaha, I live in Baltimore where that wouldnt even be mentioned at all. Wouldnt even be news worthy. Last year, 250 people were murdered. But that was an improvement from the year before when over 300 people were murdered. Hindley sounds like the kind of place I wouldnt mind living in.
I wasn’t allowed in my own house how bad dat and it was round da courner from me
Yesi Hindley is sick as fk!
