Sunday reader participation special - Name That Thing - Win prizes!

Published by hindleyite at 12:41 pm under Sunday Special Edit This

Ladies and gentlemen, Retro Yakking is proud to present the Sunday Special comeback extravaganza! Well, not quite. But it is an opportunity to have some fun, and for you to get a little something back in the process.

Yes, I’m taking a leaf out of the Offended Blogger’s book (highly recommended, visit now! Well, not now, in five minutes or whenever you finish reading this post… may be NSFW) and am posing the question - name that, er, thing!

What on earth is this?

It certainly looks rather curious, but what on earth is it?
Answer in the comments section to win! Maybe.

It’s fiendishly difficult, so I will offer you this rather small crumb of comfort: it is not an Atari video game. Read into that what you will…

Whoever is first to get the answer, or near enough to it, will win a share of the tip-top, fizzy pop, karate chop prizes which I am about to list in bullet point format. Read them out loud in a television voice over style to make them sound even cooler!

  • A linkback to the site of your choice on the recommended links page
  • An invisible Ferrari
  • The ability to say “I named that thing” and the fame and fortune that goes along with it
  • Other stuff that I can’t think of right now!

Don’t forget, I may well just award the prize to the funniest entry, so sharpen your wits and leave your answers in the comments section of this post. Good luck.

Well, what it looks like to me is the bizarrely garbled image iTunes puts up as the preview image for nearly every TV show I load into it. Once in a while it actually uses the first frame of the episode as the preview image, but usually it looks just like your mystery…thing…there.

It’s a naked Mexican jumping bean.
