OF

ENGLISH CRICKET

WHICH DIED (ONCE AGAIN) AT LORD’S
ON

5TH JUNE, 2009,

Deeply lamented by a large number of fans,
but not posh barstewards who think the shorter form
of the game is ‘a load of piffle’

N.B.– The body will be cremated and the Ashes smoked
in an Amsterdam pot house to a soundtrack of Jimi Hendrix’s ‘Hey Joe’ (Smits)

The funereal was conducted this morning
in front of the general cricketing community,
members of which each offered their own words of condolence.

Oh, we’re quaking in our boots here, mate. Huhuhuh. — Ricky Ponting

Gargle babble wibble… you’re my best friend, you are. — Andrew Symonds

England still batted better than Virender Sehwag. — MS Dhoni
