Ashton armed robbery ends in chase through Wigan - exclusive pictures
An armed raid at Lloyds TSB on Gerard Street, Ashton sparked a five-mile chase through Wigan ending in a multi-storey car park near the town centre this morning.
Two vehicles were involved in the robbery: one was found burnt out close to the scene of the crime, but the other led police through the town to the Mesnes Street car park close to the indoor market.
Though shots were reportedly fired, police have confirmed that nobody has been hurt. The thief has been apprehended.
