ICC World Twenty20 Cricket: The saga of Angelo’s shirt lettering
You may remember that a couple of days ago I featured a spectacular piece of fielding by Sri Lanka’s Angelo Mathews.
In the same post, I mentioned that a man of such physical dexterity deserves to at least have the correct name on his uniform, which the kit suppliers clearly failed to provide.
In today’s game against Pakistan, Mathews once again sported a home made method of typo correction - this time in the form a letter S made from vinyl rather than marker pen. It still doesn’t look quite right, but a little bit more professional nonetheless. Nah, who am I kidding? It just looks funny.
Mathews and his curious shirt lettering helped his team to a nineteen run win this afternoon in a match that was at least a bit closer than yesterday’s relative mismatches. Jehan Mubarak attempted to do a Mathews catch, albeit rather weakly, in the dying moments of the game.

PS. It seems like this blog thing is pretty sucessful, i’m impressed.
Why dont you blog about ESPN/STAR sports removing videos on youtube which is clearly not infringement? ESPN star is the ICC’s media partner…They have removed the Angelo video claiming infringement when under copyright laws it’s fair use!
Bring this to the attention of the masses man!
