Chewing the Web: The World’s Worst Camera Phone
Modern mobile phones are great. Not only can you contact anyone, anywhere at any time (providing you remembered to charge the battery first) but the presence of a camera function, no matter how primitive, turns the man on the street into an amateur photographer and potential paparazzo.
Even I have one of these cameras - in fact, there have been one or two times I have used my own cameraphone pictures on this very site. They are characterised by their crummy quality, tendency to be blurred, misty and grainy, but that only seems to add to their appeal, enhancing their charm.
The World’s Worst Camera Phone blog is a celebration of (relatively) crummy cameraphone pictures. As the author themself states, for a photo to function it has to be something really big for you to be able to make out exactly what it is. The pictures are mostly from London, but also of other places the author has been, including Manchester and Sheffield.
Ah, and don’t forget New York, New York. Some of the NY skyscraper images actually look pretty sharp considering the quality of camera they were taken on, and are pretty impressive. In other cases, the graininess even makes the landmarks look a lot cooler.
