Sunday Shout Out: Rivington Barn Bikers, Whirlpool and Twitterers

I’m generally not a massive fan of Sundays. They’re like a strawberry milkshake - brilliant, but you know its gonna be over soon and you’ll have to wait seven more days for another to come around. Still, it could be worse: there could be two Mondays to start and end the week.
Besides, statistics show nobody reads this blog on a Sunday so I can do pretty much what I like and nobody will notice. So if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to run through the town centre wearing nothing but a Santa Claus hat and beard combo.
First, though, I feel I must extend my gratitude to a selection of the Retro Yakking readership, namely those who’ve been kind enough to post links to the site all over the interwebs recently. Or at least, in a forum or two.
I’d better start with the Rivington Barn Bikers, or else they might run me over on their Harleys, BMXs, Kawasakis, or whatever they feel will best crush the spirits of a small-time internet weblogger. Not that they would all do this, but I’m not taking any chances, you know how it is.
Specifically, Paul McFc linked my Alex Ferguson ‘missing watch‘ post in a recent forum discussion. I bet he never thought he’d get a namedrop here when he pasted that one up.
A bit of an enigma next. There seems to be some discussion about a Retro Yakking post over at the Whirlpool Forums, but I don’t exactly know what because I keep getting the ‘you do not have access to this forum‘ message when I attempt to visit the specific thread.
All I know is that Whirlpool is an Australian ISP discussion site, which could mean some of those techie posts from last month are catching on in certain areas of the web. I can’t be too sure, though - they could just have been saying I was seen running naked through Wigan town centre or something.
A final thanks to everyone who’s Twittered Retro Yakking in the last week or so, including Lottogopher, SteveJElson, Totaltechnews and DiBroon. One or more may be aggregators, but I don’t really care becuase someone had to take the time to add the Retro Yakking feed to them. So, feel free to do that and I might just lend you my sandwich or something. I want it back though.
